Graveyard walk

My friend Channi and I had another adventure. We both found on our trip to Astoria we both have a strange attraction to graveyards. Having done a previous shoot at a particular graveyard in Beaverton, we decided to take some time to go back and check it out. The weather was perfect. It was bright and sunny, with that perfect cold fall crisp in the air. We had a great time looking at names and examining old photographs and dates. My favorite however was when we almost ran into two deer, a large male with antlers and a small female. They were so close to us, and not really having deer in Alaska I was very excited. It was an incredible day. To read more on our graveyard trip click here.

Astoria

Yesterday my friend Channi drove us to Astoria, and it was amazing. We were planning on going to Tillamook with my class, but there was a little mishap, and we went up to Astoria instead. We first stopped at Godfather's coffee and books, awesome little bookstore that I am in love with. After driving around looking at the amazing houses and beautiful buildings, we saw "Antique Hardware". Best find ever. They had everything, old popcorn machines, mail boxes, filing cabinets, tables, chairs, knobs, hinges-it was fantastic. Channi found a great little bird bottle opener, and I picked up a photograph someone had taken in Germany (buying someone else's photographs is so interesting). Then there was another adventure around to Jetty Lane and Jetty Cove, were we found the sign saying"torpedo loading zone", and barely got out of a sudden downpour. Channi and I also have a shared love of graveyards. They're just cool. Our last stop was at McMenamin's Sand Trap. Awesome much? And we had the most amazing crab fondue, really amazing. The whole day was kind of just awesome, even with the rain (and Portland being unbelievably sunny).

All you need is a little Glitter....

Today was the best. It is going to be a week of pictures. My darling friend Rachael came to see me and we had a small photo shoot. More like walking around my neighborhood waiting for the perfect sun and catching up. I adore her. And she brought my favorite thing, glitter! I love how it all turned out and her eyes are so stunning.

Maddie

I've become friends with Maddie's family since moving to Beaverton, and I love all of them! They are a total blast and sweet as can be. Maddie needed some shots done for her modeling and acting class, so while the rain took a break and we had some blue skies tonight we did a fast shoot. Maddie did great out in the field with her giant wedges (luckily not breaking an ankle). She is a natural and has amazing eyes!
