Astoria

Yesterday my friend Channi drove us to Astoria, and it was amazing. We were planning on going to Tillamook with my class, but there was a little mishap, and we went up to Astoria instead. We first stopped at Godfather's coffee and books, awesome little bookstore that I am in love with. After driving around looking at the amazing houses and beautiful buildings, we saw "Antique Hardware". Best find ever. They had everything, old popcorn machines, mail boxes, filing cabinets, tables, chairs, knobs, hinges-it was fantastic. Channi found a great little bird bottle opener, and I picked up a photograph someone had taken in Germany (buying someone else's photographs is so interesting). Then there was another adventure around to Jetty Lane and Jetty Cove, were we found the sign saying"torpedo loading zone", and barely got out of a sudden downpour. Channi and I also have a shared love of graveyards. They're just cool. Our last stop was at McMenamin's Sand Trap. Awesome much? And we had the most amazing crab fondue, really amazing. The whole day was kind of just awesome, even with the rain (and Portland being unbelievably sunny).
